Verizon: Horrible Customer Service & Ridiculous Policies


I work with adults with developmental disabilities and have had to deal with Verizon a number of times regarding improper billing.

Because my clients' accounts are under a guardian's name, Verizon makes things so incredibly difficult to deal with. Each time I have tried to communicate with them (in store or over the phone) they tell me that my client is not authorized to have any access to the account even though his name is on the bill and it is sent directly to him. We were told that we had to contact his guardian to have her put his name on the account allowing him access, which she did (at the very least) four separate times. Still, we are unable to access anything and keep receiving bills that ask for much larger sums than are owed. When we call to correct or clarify the issue, we are still told we have no access despite the above.

Three times we went into the store and had them call my client's guardian while we were there, authorizing his access. (Of course after waiting in the store for 45 minutes.) Then the next time we went in, they say they have no record of him on the account, even though his name is on the bill and it comes to his home address (not where his guardian lives). Once we waited an entire hour just to be waited on, then were told there was nothing they could do because he was not allowed access. Frustrating, infuriating, and impossible. I recently switched phone service providers and noticed that Verizon had some really great deals, but did not switch to them because of these experiences.

Verizon: Just because you're an enormous corporation doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. (well it sort of does in this society since people don't stand up for themselves and boycott your awful services)
