Verizon wireless IS the poster child representing horrible customer service. On April 1st, 2014 I went to a Verizon company store in High Point NC to upgrade my old cell phone. The agent doing the upgrade was unaware of what he was doing since he kept updating me on the process which took over 2 hours to complete. During the process he put the new phone on an installment contract for 23 months with a first months payment on the spot PLUS he debited my charge card for the entire price of my new phone. I have gone to the store inquiring about the credit was told it's out of the store hands and in corporate hands. I have called customer service about 10 times have been given 3 basic reasons what's holding up the refund. The following reasons all given by supervisors are wait 3 to 5 more business days, they are 'pushing' the process, they have created a 'tops' report whatever that is, and they 'feel' the process 'is hanging out there' I totally agree. I mentioned the upgrade happened April 1st it's now April 26th still waiting for my refund wondering if I'll ever get it. Verizon doesn't want to refund money owed customers but have no problem getting customer bills issued on time. If I ever get the refund I'll pay off the installment phone contract (no service contract was required) then drop Verizon for another carrier. It's a shame this company has lost its way with customer service.
